Dr. Kapil Vij

Dr. Kapil Vij brings calm, compassionate care to every patient he sees. With over two decades of pediatric dental experience, he understands that visiting the dentist can be a source of anxiety for children — and often their parents. His thoughtful, gentle approach puts families at ease and creates a foundation for lifelong healthy habits.
Graduation and Education
Dr. Vij graduated from Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Illinois, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Illinois in 1999, and completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry in 2001. His dedication to excellence led him to pursue a Master of Science in Oral Biology in 2004.
Known for his calm demeanor and clear communication, Dr. Vij takes time to explain each child’s needs in a way that’s reassuring and easy to understand. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Vij enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children.
Dr. Mark Cabana
Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Mark Cabana has devoted his career to helping children feel comfortable, confident, and cared for at the dentist.
Born in Chicago and raised in Downers Grove, Dr. Cabana has been serving families in the Chicagoland area for more than 24 years.
Graduation and Education
He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his pediatric dentistry training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Since then, Dr. Cabana has built a reputation for excellence — recognized in Chicago Magazine’s Top Dentists list (2019) and voted one of America’s Top Dentists every year since 2018. He was also named Kidlist’s Best Pediatric Dentist in 2017 for the near western suburbs.

Professional Memberships
Dr. Cabana is committed to staying on the leading edge of pediatric dental care through continuing education.
As part of the American Laser Club, he has advanced training in laser frenectomies and the Function First Model for treating tongue and lip ties. Giving back is important to Dr. Cabana. He recently volunteered at the Illinois Mission of Mercy event in Peoria, helping provide dental care to underserved children and families.
Pediatric care runs in his family — his parents and two brothers are pediatricians — and his passion for working with children shines through in every appointment.
Outside the Office
Outside the office, Dr. Cabana enjoys life with his wife, Arlene, and their three children, Derek, Justin, and Lauren. Their household also includes a Shih Tzu named Casper and a clever little hamster named Almond, who’s known for his escape artist skills. In his free time, he enjoys biking, golfing, basketball, pickleball, bowling, and cheering on the Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks. He’s also a travel enthusiast and recently celebrated 20 years of marriage with a dream trip to Italy.
Dr. Cabana believes that pediatric dentistry is the most rewarding profession in the world. His goal is to make every child’s visit as fun, positive, and stress-free as possible — helping them build a lifetime of healthy, happy smiles.
